It’s time for the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo, and Alliance Bank staff member Nathan Cox is again stepping up to the plate! Nathan is a Vice President and Commercial Lender for Alliance Bank, but also a master of rodeo organizing for the Sikeston Jaycees. Since 2006, Nathan has served the rodeo in many different capacities, including Chairman of the Rodeo’s Comptroller office, Chairman of the Rodeo Concessions, Secretary/Treasurer of the Rodeo Board of Directors, and Vice President of the Rodeo Board. In 2012, Nathan served as President of the Rodeo Board for the 60th Annual Rodeo. For 2014, Nathan has rolled off the Rodeo Board, but continues to advise the group, and has gained the title of “Pickle Chairman” this year, as he is implementing homemade fried pickles in the concession stands this year!

Just as Mr. Cox serves Alliance Bank with his number-crunching skills, he has also used his skills to provide significant benefits to the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo. Nathan has not only overseen the Concessions revenue and expenses, but also helped manage the income and expenses for the entire rodeo. To give you an idea of the magnitude of this project, the budget for the rodeo exceeds $1 million dollars annually, and expenses have been reduced by 10% with his help. The expense reduction measures implemented in 2012 carried over to 2013 as well, which enabled the Jaycees to donate more money back to the community in the last two years than ever before in the history of the rodeo.

Mr. Cox’s ability to create spreadsheets and analyze financial data, along with his commitment and devotion to the Sikeston Jaycees has allowed the organization to enhance its bottom line through increased profits stemming from expense reduction measures, pricing adjustments, and competitive bidding from vendors. For these accomplishments, Mr. Cox was awarded the rodeo’s Shiny Boots award in 2013. The Shiny Boots award is presented annually to a Jaycee whose efforts have shined above others through his enthusiasm, innovative ideas and genuine concern for the success of the Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo. Mr. Cox was also a recipient of the Outstanding Young Missourian award in 2013.

Alliance Bank is happy to have Nathan Cox on our team and proud of his many accomplishments with the Sikeston Jaycees and the Rodeo! We encourage you to attend the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo August 6th thru 9th at the Bootheel Rodeo Grounds. The proceeds of the rodeo are donated back to local non-profit organizations. In the last two years, the Jaycees have donated over $300,000. Check out http://www.sikestonrodeo.com/ or call 800-455-BULL for more information and to purchase tickets!
